Privacy Policy
SignalGo (the "App") is operated by Shanxi Xinghuo Companion Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy. You must be 18 or older to use the App.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Sign-in with Google: your Google account identifier, your verified email address, your name and profile picture. We use the name and picture as defaults for your nickname and avatar, and keep the email address as a contact and account-recovery address. We never receive your Google password.
- Email address (if you sign in or bind with an email address): used to sign you in, verify your identity, recover your account and send you messages as described in "Messages from us". For Google sign-in we keep your verified email address for the same purposes.
- Phone number (optional): if you sign in or bind with a phone number, we collect it and send a verification code by SMS.
- Profile: to finish sign-up you must set your nickname, gender, birthday (18 or older) and city, and choose who you would like to meet (a matching preference, for example men or women; if you choose the same gender, you also pick a profile attribute label). Your age, calculated from your birthday, is shown on your profile and in lists such as Nearby. Everything else is optional: avatar, bio, interest tags, MBTI. The matching preference is used only to recommend people to you and to decide whom we show you to; the attribute label, if you set one, appears on your profile and in lists such as Nearby. We do not share any of this with third parties.
Content you create
- Signals, posts, comments, chat messages (text, images, video, voice), photos and voice recordings you choose to upload, and reports or feedback you send us. Messages and media you send to other users are stored on our servers so they can be delivered.
Location
- Approximate and precise location, only after you grant the permission, to show nearby people and places and to let you attach a place to a post. You can turn location off at any time in your device settings; location features will stop working, and nothing else is affected.
Purchases
- Premium membership is bought through Google Play Billing. We receive an order identifier and purchase token to confirm the purchase and activate your membership. We never receive your payment card details.
Device and usage information
- A device identifier generated by the App, a push notification token, your IP address, the pages you view, and your search keywords.
- Crash and performance data (see Section 7), and security signals from the device (for example whether the device is rooted, running in an emulator, or the App has been modified).
2. How we use your information
- To provide the App: sign-in, profiles, matching and recommendations, messaging, notifications, and membership.
- To keep the App safe: detect fraud, abuse and fake accounts, enforce our rules, and secure your account and purchases.
- To maintain and improve the App: fix crashes, measure performance and feature use.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
- Recommendations can be turned off in Settings → Privacy.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context advertising, and we do not show third-party ads.
3. Messages from us
We may contact you by push notification, SMS, email and in-app messages.
- Service messages. These include sign-in and verification codes, security alerts, purchase and order confirmations, updates to our terms or policies, decisions about your account and the result of any appeal, and replies from our support team. We send them because they are needed to run your account; they are not marketing, so you cannot unsubscribe from them. You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Marketing messages. These include news, offers, feature suggestions and reminders to come back. Where the law requires your consent (for example in the EEA and the UK), we send marketing emails and SMS only if you have agreed. Elsewhere we may send them unless you opt out.
- How to opt out. Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email; reply with the opt-out instruction shown in an SMS (for example "TD"); or contact us. We stop marketing messages on that channel promptly and within the time required by law. You will still receive service messages.
- How we use your email address and phone number. To sign you in, verify your identity, recover your account, send you service messages and, subject to the choices above, marketing messages. We do not sell them.
- Sending providers. Email and SMS are delivered by service providers that process your contact details only to send our messages and must protect them.
4. Automated decisions
We use automated tools, including AI, to detect rule-breaking content and risky accounts, and we may restrict features based on the results. If you disagree with an action, you can appeal and a person will review it. You can turn off personalised recommendations in Settings → Privacy.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Our web pages (such as the account deletion page) may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, keep the service secure and measure visits. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; some page features may stop working.
6. Where your data is stored, legal bases and international transfers
Our servers are located in mainland China (Hangzhou). If you use the App from outside China, your information is transferred to and stored in China. By creating an account you consent to this transfer. We protect data with encrypted transmission, access controls and security audits; no method of transmission is 100% secure.
Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (running your account and purchases), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the App), legal obligations, and your consent (for example for sensitive information such as location or the matching preference you choose, and for marketing messages where required).
7. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf, and only as needed:
| Provider | Purpose | Information |
|---|---|---|
| Alibaba Cloud | Hosting, file storage, push notification delivery, crash and performance monitoring | Content you upload, device information, push token, crash and performance data (including your user ID and nickname) |
| Google (Google Sign-In, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Play Billing) | Sign-in, push notifications, purchases | Google ID token, push token, purchase token |
| Talsec (freeRASP) | Security checks on your device | Anonymous security diagnostics, anonymous device and app identifiers, IP address, approximate location and network operator |
Messages and content you send to other users are, of course, delivered to them. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety. If our business is transferred, we will tell you who the recipient is and how to reach them, the recipient must continue to follow this policy, and we will ask for your consent again if the purpose of processing changes.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, unless the law requires otherwise.
You can delete your account in the App (Me → Settings → Account & security → Delete account) or on the web, without opening the App: https://signalgo.vip/account/delete. There is a 7-day cooling-off period; signing in with a verification code before it ends cancels the request.
When deletion completes:
- We delete your phone number and your identity verification information (name, ID number, verification photos, if any), and we unlink your sign-in methods (including Google).
- We anonymize your profile details and the content you posted, such as posts, comments and signals.
- We keep where needed for legal obligations, disputes and platform safety: order and payment records, and moderation and safety records.
- Messages you already sent remain in the other person's conversation.
To help prevent banned accounts from re-registering, we may keep identifiers (such as an encrypted form of a phone number, or device identifiers).
9. Your rights
You can view and edit your profile in the App, delete your account as described above, and turn off recommendations and location. Where the law gives you the right (for example in the EEA, the UK or California), you can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal information, object to processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise a right, contact us below. We reply within 15 working days; if we cannot do what you ask, we will explain why. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Security incidents
If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Children
The App is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the App, contact us and we will remove the account.
12. Public information
Your nickname, avatar, profile content and posts are visible to other users according to your settings. The App also shows your general location (province or city level, derived from your IP address) on your profile.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. We will notify you in the App for material changes, and the effective date above will change. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept it.
